The FTK studio welcomes British Marathon star Charlotte Purdue to Episode Three. Charlotte holds the third fastest Women’s Marathon time in the UK, achieving this feat in the London Marathon following a controversial absence from the UK Olympic team. Charlotte conveniently “forgot” her submission to our infamous social media segment, but was quickly forgiven by providing a very in-depth insight into her career as an athlete so far, delving into the highs, the lows and everything in between. On the training front, Brett returns to complete five laps of the Caulfield Race Course for the first time in two years, and we hear about Joel’s 15-second PB for a third place in the Adelaide Invitational 5,000m. Brett and Joel discuss a training session from hell before sharing this week’s targets of “TWSOITWTWATSAᵀᴹ.”

Tuesday Feb 08, 2022
Three-time Olympian Dave McNeill joins the roaming FTK Studio (this week's recording is brought to you by Joel's sister's boyfriend's family's dining table… wrap your head around that!) to bring a whole lot of running knowledge, passion and previously unforeseen levels of maturity to the show. Brett and Joel are left embarrassed after realising they have been mispronouncing the name of their own podcast, but things take a turn for the better as the hosts delve deep into the outcome of the two-mile Handicap Race at the Beachside Gift. Joel and Dave talk about altered training while they manage lasting niggles from Zatopek:10 and other demands on the body such as overtraining and nutrition. Dave, a registered physiotherapist, offers professional insight into the body and injury management while also opening up about personal mental health struggles. The hosts discuss the culture of running within Melbourne Track Club, and reveal some of the nuances that exist to produce such successful results across so many athletes. The usual trademarked segment (you know the one) makes an anticipated return to close out the show.

Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
The FTK Studio (currently Brett’s girlfriend Saskia’s kitchen table) welcomes Tokyo 2020 Olympian and Australian 10000m Champion Rose Davies to this week’s episode. We delve into the Zatopek: 10, hearing first-hand how Rose captured the win and her inside perspective on the lead pack of the Women’s race. Joel provides a run-down on his race, with some fantastic insight into the men’s front-pack (based on his perspective from a few hundred metres back). Brett reveals his post-Covid recovery and how he is slowly getting back into the swing of things after a slower January. Favourite segments such as ‘Weekly Training Recap’ and ‘Things We Have Seen On Instagram This Week That We Aren't Too Sure About™’ make a highly anticipated return, with lots of laughter and running content scattered throughout.
