Huzzah! Our 68th episode kicks into gear with the usual summary of what's dropped on Patreon in the past week. In preparations for a hotter than expected Sydney Marathon, Brett & Joel then share their tips and tricks to ensure those racing in Sydney can still run well, despite the weather. As far as training weeks are concerned, Brett takes us through his "windiest threshold ever" before sharing insight on his marathon race plan in Sydney. Joel returns to group MTC training after missing five consecutive weeks but is unfortunately met with another hiccup towards the end of his training week.We hope you enjoyed EP 68 (despite Brett making his best efforts to sound like he's shaving for the entire duration of the episode). Good luck to everyone racing in Sydney and remember - if you see Brett on the course make sure you yell "Go Brett" and if you see Joel out there supporting you only need to yell "FTK".

Too many female runners experience sexual harassment while running in Australia.
FTK’s Elise Beacom is joined by Bianca Elencevski, Strategic Planner and Urban Designer, and Brittany De Groot, founder of Flow State Run Club to explore safety on the run from two angles:
How the design of cities and our built environment influences whether a place feels safe to run (or not)
How community run clubs are providing “safety in numbers” and encouraging greater female participation in running
If you don’t think this episode is for you, this episode is for you. Everyone has a role to play to make our roads, trails and parks safer for all runners.

Brett throws Joel off early by arriving at the FTK studio with not only a surprise-shaved head, but with an accompanying announcement that he'd been a guest on another podcast last week. In Joel's training week he lays down a respectable Tuesday, fights the wind at Albert Park on Thursday and does his first double run in a long while. Brett spends 99% of his waking hours in the heat chamber, but somehow finds time to get outside for a ride (his first run back also goes well). As with every episode there's two Tim Vincent's near the end and we close out the episode with a snippet of Amateur Hour #2 with Sam Hopper.
