Episode #83 kicks off with all the regular FTK "Friend Of The Show" housekeeping before reminding the listeners to use the password FTK for a discount on Maurie Plant Meet tickets. Due to a scheduling conflict we've brought forward our live show to Wednesday the 14th of February at Runners Paradise. Following the free-to-attend 6:00pm shop run FTK will be hosting a special unrecorded live-talk with special guests Jack Rayner and Stewy McSweyn who are racing the 5000m and Mile respectively at the Maurie Plant Meet.As for training weeks Brett lays down his last big week at altitude before he begins his taper into Marugame Half Marathon and Joel finally cracks the triple digits in mileage (for the first time in six months).Brett & Riley speak to Brooke Feldmeier - an American 800m athlete who started training under Nic Bideau with MTC last year. Brooke opens up about her unorthodox entry into the sport and talks about how her change in training style has seen her stay injury free in the lead up to next months Maurie Plant Meet.

Brett & Joel record from falls creek for the first time in FTK's history. The episode begins with all the regular FTK housekeeping before diving deep into their training weeks. Brett fights off a couple of altitude-fit canines in his threshold while Joel helps out Eloise in her marathon workout. Tim Vincent - #81

Episode #81 could be one of FTK's longest ever. With Brett recording from Falls Creek and Joel from Box Hill the two kick the episode off announcing their partnership with Athletics Australia's Maurie Plant Meet which will be held in Melbourne on February 15th. They then discuss Patreon's new Chasing Paris UK series before secretly announcing the special guest for the upcoming live show at Runners Paradise on February 19th (tickets will be on sale next week). Brett & Joel cover some highlight performances over the weekend (shout-out to Pat Tiernan) before taking the listeners through their training weeks.Riley chats with Brisbane based marathoner Tim Vincent. The interview starts off horribly when Riley incorrectly assumes Tim is from the Gold Coast. From there, the boys smooth things out and talk about Tim's 2023 season - firstly his 2:17 marathon debut on the Gold Coast, then his 2:12 follow up in Kobe, Japan. Tim shares his unconventional build up to Kobe, and his outlook on what 2024 might hold for him. Finally, Tim shares his love of the round ball game.

Chasing Paris UK - #01

Phil gets straight into the oven with some big sessions in Kenya, as he only has around 5 weeks to Seville.  Marc talks about the many adjustments in Kenya; not just the running, but dietary changes, weather, and altitude. Phil gives us some insight into how the training setup works in Kenya, and the luxury of the ‘matatu’ - the fuelling vans you often see driving alongside groups of runners. They’re a double edged sword - you can hop in at any point if you’re feeling tired, but if you get dropped, it’s not waiting for you.  Marc also gives some insight into joining his NN teammates in camp under Patrick Sang and how he made the decision not to do the marathon block there.   The question for our listeners - does 15 miles constitute a long run?Please note this is the last episode that will be aired across our free-to-listen network, with all future episodes accessible only via Patreon.

Chasing Paris UK - Introduction Episode

Off the success of our last two marathon training series', we wanted to go even bigger for 2024. Chasing Paris returns for a special UK based series hosted by Matt Seddon, and featuring two of the UK's biggest names - Phil Sesemann (2:08:49 in Valencia 2023) and Marc Scott (12:57 5000m runner). This special first-date episode introduces our host and athletes and gives an overview of what led up to their current marathon builds, with Phil and Marc coming to us live from Kenya. Phil is agonisingly close to the Olympic Standard, while Marc will be going through his first marathon build here on FTK.  Strap in, sports fans - Matt, Phil, and Marc are going to be with us until late April. If you got any closer to the action you'd have their sweat on you.
